Members of AIR, whether as Broker/Agents, Affiliate Business Organizations or Affiliate Members, are part of a family of elite professionals who enjoy a designation instantly respected within the commercial real estate arena. Over 1600 individuals in over 350 firms comprise AIR, representing over 95% of all in the Los Angeles Basin.

Central to this high level of professional membership are AIR’s Affiliate Business Organization Members. The blending of the expertise of Affiliates with AIR’s core membership is invaluable. For example, Affiliate Members not only provide critical sponsorships that help make the variety of Association events possible, but regularly provide up-to-the-minute information to members about a variety of subjects vital to brokers, including escrow and financial trends.

Below you will find requirements for each category of AIR membership.

FIRM REQUIREMENTS:

• Licensed Corporation under the Department of Real Estate
• Firm must be actively en­gaged in the brokerage of industrial and/or non-residential real estate;
• Must have a responsible member as head of firm who meets the above requirements
• Receive board of directors' approval

SALESPERSON/BROKER MEMBER REQUIREMENTS:

• Licensed real estate salesperson or broker
• Must be actively engaged in industrial and/or non-residential real estate brokerage
• No pending/adjudicated ethics complaints before any real estate organization or governmental agency within the last three-years
• Attend an orientation and pass the orientation exam
• Complete an application
• Provide 6 letters of recommendation
  • 2 from AIR Members "sponsors"
  • 2 from Co-Op Brokers
  • 2 from Principal references, clients
• Provide a transaction history for the past two years
• Receive board of directors’ approval

ASSOCIATE MEMBER REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be a salesperson/broker with an Accredited Member Firm.
• Attend an orientation and pass the orientation exam.
• Complete an application within two years of Associate status and upgrade to full member.

AFFILIATE BUSINESS ORGANIZATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be in the commercial real estate industry or provide a product or service to the commercial real estate industry
• Complete an application
• Receive board of directors' approval

AFFILIATE "APPRAISER MEMBER" REQUIREMENTS:

• California General Appraiser License
• Actively engaged in Industrial/Commercial Real Estate Appraisal
• Attend an orientation and pass the orientation exam
• Complete application with 3 letters of recommendation
• Provide 20 of the most recent commercial/industrial/office appraisal transactions
• Receive board of directors’ approval
